Long term Complications and Follow-up

An increasing number of long term complications following chemo/radiotherapy and SCT are being recorded. The CIBMTR are establishing databases to document the frequency of these problems. Recommendations for follow-up and advice for Health Professionals and Patients are available. See Rizzo et al. 2006.

Each patient will be issued with their own CIBMTR booklet (specific for autograft or allograft) which provides guidance for long term follow up investigation and assessments. The patient's general practitioner or referring doctor will receive a CIBMTR leaflet which outlines these arrangements:
