Procedure for Harvest of Related Cord Blood Stem Cells

  1. Details obtained from family re:
  2. Referral to SCT Committee for consideration.
  3. If accepted discuss with NZBS re: collection (For collection and storage details see separate section of the guidelines.)
  4. Notifications of referring obstetrician and meeting with family to discuss procedural details ie. need for delivery in Christchurch Womens Hospital and induction preferable.
  5. Maternal assessment to include:
  6. Contact Obstetrician/midwives re: final plan and protocol.
  7. Delivery sample is disease tested and HLA typed.
