Context

Systemic Mastocytosis (SM)

The majority of adults have indolent systemic mastocytosis (ISM) with no evidence of organ involvement. Some may have severe symptoms due to mast cell mediator release.

Aggressive SM is associated with systemic symptoms such as:

May see enlarged lymph nodes, liver, and spleen on examination.

Organ infiltration is referred to as C-findings.
