Monitoring Treatment for Multiple Myeloma

Plateau has been defined as a stable paraprotein (less than 25% change) for 3 months in the absence of continuing myeloma related organ damage.

Monitoring will include CBC, calcium, creatinine, immunoglobulin levels +/- serum free light chain estimation. 24 hour urine BJP estimation may be required for some studies. SPE (Serum Protein Electrophoresis) can be performed intermittently to confirm the presence or absence of paraprotein.
