In Haematology patients, acute problems may arise quickly, e.g., neutropenic sepsis. Prompt assessment, investigation and treatment may well be required urgently. Observe the standard arrangements for new hospital admissions.

If beds are unavailable in B6, consider overflowing less intensive patients to the Oncology Ward OR a General Medical Ward. Transplant patients should remain in B6 wherever possible.
